Turkey Hunting
Kansas has a super long turkey season that runs for two months.
We also have two subspecies of turkeys, Eastern and the Rio
Grande. Turkeys can be hunted all day, everyday in Kansas
and there is a two-bird limit. We are very strict and committed
to harvesting mature birds. That is long beards that are two
years or older. Leaving the jakes to strut another day will
ensure great turkey hunting for years to come. The beauty
of spring is that there is many things happening in the outdoors.
If there is a lull in gobbling, we will pick up the fishing
poles and head to a nearby pond. All turkey hunts are three
full days of hunting and a four-night stay at the lodge.

Bow
Hunting
Bow hunting turkeys is an ever expanding sport. Kansas has embraced
that and started an archery only turkey season. 2010 will be offering
the longest bow season yet. Starting on April 1st and ending on
April 13th. I personally bow hunt only and have done this the
last three turkey seasons. We bow hunt from ground blinds using
decoys. The key to our turkey bow hunts is blind placement and
patience. Also, you have the choice of using a bow during the
entire Kansas turkey season.
Shotgun Hunting
Using a shotgun to harvest turkeys is what most of us are used
to. This style of hunting allows you to sit in blinds or get
out for some running and gunning.
